Wobbly 911
May 17th, 2007 by General Henz
Following our Call to Wobbly Arms we received the following email from Jerry from the Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps:
“Help me, General Henz, you’re my only hope.
We’re shooting a documentary of our nationally recognized marching band, the Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps. After renting a jib arm and a remote head, we’ve come to realize that the tools aren’t producing the results we’re looking for.
At 1:05 in the attached clip you’ll see where we’re experiencing a Wobbly headache: with the jib arm flying high and the remote head tilted down we’re unable to get a Wobbly free shot.
What do you recommend? What can be done? Is there a solution? Can the coalition support our need?
Help me, General Henz, you’re my only hope.”
After getting over the eerie Star Wars reference, I’ve realized that this is a case of Wobbly 911.
Any recommendations for what poor Jerry can do? What’s the appropriate Anti-Wobbly technology for this job? I’m tied up sewing my Knight of the Wobbly Table costume armor for the rest of the day and I’m reaching out for short-term support on this.
Any rogue mercenaries able to help Jerry with advice?

Sounds like a job for the red tequila jello cam!
Karl, I don’t know if the RTJ Cam is ready for operational work. As pointed out here we’re still in the advanced prototyping phase.
I’m thinking more of a stabilized remote head for the jib arm. Any thoughts?
