A Weekend Retreat
May 8th, 2007 by General Henz
I’m back from a weekend retreat with our reallysmartconsultants. We escaped to a cabin on Blake Island for a weekend of brainstorming sessions, team building exercises, and “emotional callisthenic” activities.

With the help of the graphic we were able to start to identify some of the critical features necessary in a stabilization product. I’ll share more on this later.
The retreat, overall, was beneficial. I was nervous following one session when the reallysmartconsultants segued into an emotional debrief activity. As a proponent of going commando I felt that I was going to let my team down by not being able to take part in the activity. I raised my concern with the reallysmartconsultants who responded with the wise saying, “a team that emotionally debriefs together, sticks together”. The debrief turned out to be revealing and enjoyable and afterwards we headed to the ropes course.
