Wobbly
Mar 24th, 2007 by General Henz
Wobbly continues its unrelenting viral spread from production to production, infecting all images it encounters. Reports of Wobbly infections have surfaced everywhere - from the biggest Hollywood productions to drunk college kids in dorm rooms making videos for YouTube.
This latest string of Wobbly continues to grow unabated and with no end in sight. To battle Wobbly we’ve launched the War on Wobblies and the entire camera positioning industry has been put on Wobbly Alert Orange. Spurred on by the inability of current anti-Wobbly technology to address the Wobbly infestation in Hollywood, and the irritating rash that develops whenever we read marketing mumbo-jumbo, the War on Wobblies seeks to end Wobbly in Cinematography. Forever.
The world has witnessed great tragedies at the hands of Wobbly. Every year dozens of potential block busters experience premature release to video because of Wobbly. Industry equipment leaders make attempts to blur the distinction between product claims and reality, creating causalities in their fight for stabilization supremacy. The only real victim is the production budget.
We’re looking to put an end to ridiculous marketing claims. We’re looking to help you put an end to Wobbly cinematography.

I think you fellas are off your collective rockers. I’ve spent my career in the entertainment biz and simply don’t buy that wobby (aka jitter, vibration) is a big deal. I remember working on WaterWorld a few years back when there was a big debate on set about heads and stabilization. As far as I was concerned it was all hype and noise and I convinced the powers to not take it seriously. I convinced them to spend the money where it really counted and I believe the results speak for themselves.
Ole Timer, get a grip - seriously get a grip. WaterWorld? Are you serious? I remember you from back then. I don’t know who these Wobbly folks are but I know who you are. Suggest you find another way to spend your retirement years.
